Knife attack in Luxembourg leaves French woman dead
A 35-year-old French woman was fatally injured in a knife attack on Tuesday in the Limpertsberg district of Luxembourg City, authorities confirmed. The suspected attacker, a 27-year-old man, has been apprehended by police.
According to the Grand Duchy’s public prosecutor, the assailant stabbed two women—a French national and a 36-year-old Luxembourgish woman—before fleeing the scene. The French victim succumbed to her injuries shortly afterward, while the other woman was hospitalized in serious condition.
During his escape, the suspect was involved in a car accident in Limpertsberg but continued fleeing. He was later located and arrested in another area north of the capital. His interrogation is ongoing, and the motives behind the attack remain unclear.
Authorities confirmed that the suspect, who does not reside in Luxembourg, had no family or personal connection to the victims, and that no other individuals were involved in the incident.
