Iran responds to U.S. proposal seeking to end regional conflict
Iran has reportedly delivered its official response to a proposal from the United States aimed at ending the ongoing regional conflict that has continued for more than two months.
According to Iranian media reports, the response was transmitted through Pakistan, which is believed to be playing a mediating role between the two sides during the latest diplomatic efforts.
Sources familiar with the negotiations indicated that Iran’s proposal focuses primarily on achieving a cessation of hostilities in the region before moving toward broader political discussions. The current phase of talks is reportedly centered on reducing military tensions and restoring stability in strategic areas affected by the conflict.
One of the major priorities under discussion involves securing maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important energy shipping routes. Any disruption in the strait can have significant consequences for global oil markets and international trade.
Diplomatic sources suggest that current negotiations could lead to a temporary memorandum of understanding designed to halt military operations and ensure safe navigation in the Gulf region. However, observers note that reaching a broader and permanent agreement may prove far more complex.
Among the most sensitive issues expected to emerge in future negotiations is Iran’s nuclear programme, which has remained a major point of tension between Tehran and Western powers for many years.
Regional and international actors continue to monitor the situation closely, hoping that diplomatic channels may help prevent further escalation in the Middle East. Analysts believe that any progress toward de-escalation could contribute to greater regional stability and reduce pressure on international energy markets.
Despite cautious optimism surrounding the latest exchanges, no official announcement has yet confirmed a final agreement between the parties involved.
