Explosion at Chinese factory kills eight
An explosion at a biotechnology factory in northern China has left eight people dead, according to an updated toll released by state media. The incident occurred on Saturday morning at a production site operated by Jiapeng Biotech Company, located in Shanxi province.
Local authorities confirmed that emergency services were immediately deployed to the scene, where thick, dark yellow smoke was seen rising from the damaged facilities. The legal representative of the company has been taken into police custody as part of an ongoing investigation. Cleanup and debris removal operations are still underway, while specialists work to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
