Eurowings extends suspension of flights to Beirut until March 28
The German airline Eurowings has announced that it will extend the suspension of its flights to Beirut until March 28, according to information shared with travel partners and agents. The airline, which operates under the umbrella of the Lufthansa Group, regularly connects the Lebanese capital with several European destinations.
Under normal circumstances, Eurowings operates around six weekly flights between Beirut and major European cities such as Berlin, Düsseldorf and Stockholm. The temporary suspension reflects the ongoing adjustments airlines are making in response to regional security concerns and operational challenges.
At this stage, it remains unclear whether the extended suspension applies only to flights serving Lebanon or to other destinations in the region. Earlier this week, the Lufthansa Group indicated that several of its airlines had temporarily halted routes to key Middle Eastern destinations, including Tel Aviv, Amman, Erbil and Tehran.
Airlines frequently adjust their schedules during periods of geopolitical tension to ensure passenger safety and operational stability. Industry analysts note that such suspensions are typically reviewed regularly as airlines monitor security developments and international aviation guidelines.
Travelers affected by the flight cancellations are generally offered rebooking options or refunds, depending on airline policies and the availability of alternative routes.
