Dramatic arrest of “Ould Issa” in Nador after high-speed chase

A major police operation shook the city of Nador on Thursday night, ending with the arrest of a nationally wanted fugitive known as “Ould Issa”. The dramatic scene unfolded in the neighborhood of Hay Oulad Boutaieb, where the suspect attempted a spectacular escape before being intercepted by the anti-gang brigade, locally referred to as “La Bag”.

According to local sources, the detainee underwent a thorough search that led to the discovery of a significant quantity of illegal substances. Officers seized 70 grams of cocaine, 60 hallucinogenic pills, and four mobile phones found in his possession. These items point to the suspect’s alleged involvement in drug and illicit pill trafficking networks operating in the region.

Police forces also confiscated 1,900 dirhams, believed to be proceeds from drug sales, along with an electronic scale commonly used to measure doses for distribution. A Mitsubishi vehicle with a foreign license plate was seized as well. Authorities noted that the model resembles a car captured during a previous operation targeting other drug traffickers.

The successful intervention highlights the ongoing efforts of Morocco’s national security services to dismantle criminal networks and curb the circulation of narcotics in the region.
