Collective rape of a minor shocks the Moussem of Moulay Abdellah

The province of El Jadida, in western Morocco, has been shaken by a serious crime during the Moussem of Moulay Abdellah. According to local sources, a 13 to 14-year-old boy was the victim of a collective rape, sparking widespread outrage and concern.

Following the assault, the minor reportedly boarded a bus to the city of Youssoufia, where his health deteriorated rapidly. He was first taken to the local hospital before being transferred to a medical facility in Marrakech due to the seriousness of his condition. Doctors there are currently providing specialized care and conducting necessary examinations.

Judicial sources confirmed that the case is being handled under the supervision of the King’s Attorney General at the El Jadida Court of Appeal. Investigators are working according to legal procedures, with the child expected to undergo a forensic medical examination once his condition allows.

Authorities stated that the minor will be heard in the presence of his mother, in order to protect his rights as a child. Technical and field investigations are being launched, based on the forensic report and under the direction of the public prosecutor. The aim is to identify all those involved and bring the alleged perpetrators to justice.

The case has reignited discussions about child protection and security during large gatherings such as the Moussem, which attracts thousands of visitors each year.
