Ajax secures Rayane Bounida with new contract through 2028

Ajax Amsterdam has officially announced an extended contract for Moroccan-born midfielder Rayane Bounida, ensuring his stay at the Eredivisie club until at least 2028. The 18-year-old’s new agreement adds three years to his previous deal, which was set to expire in 2025, with an option for an additional season.

Bounida’s journey at Ajax has been marked by steady progress and growing recognition. Renowned for his technical skills, quick decision-making, and versatility on the field, the young talent has impressed the club’s coaching staff and sparked interest from top teams across Europe. Despite facing financial hurdles that delayed negotiations, Ajax prioritized securing Bounida’s future, underscoring their faith in his potential.

Ajax’s Director of Football, Marijn Beuker, shared his enthusiasm about the agreement:

“We are delighted that Rayane has extended his contract with Ajax. Negotiations took some time, but we are very pleased that he believes in the sporting plan we have outlined and that the agreement aligns with Ajax’s new reality. With his technical ability, quick decision-making in tight spaces, and two-footedness, Rayane is a feast for the eyes.”

Beuker also highlighted Bounida’s growth and perseverance:

“His football intelligence, creativity, and smart positioning perfectly reflect our vision on talent development. Initially, he faced a challenging period in Amsterdam, requiring patience and hard work. However, in recent months, he has made remarkable progress, moving from Ajax U19 to Jong Ajax and even Ajax 1. We are excited to see his continued development at the club.”

Bounida’s early adjustment to Ajax’s system was not without challenges, but his determination has paid off. The club’s decision to extend his contract is a testament to their belief in his bright future and their commitment to nurturing his talent.

Ajax fans eagerly await the next chapter in Bounida’s career as the midfielder continues to shine in Amsterdam’s iconic red and white.
