Kazakhstan: Pro-Presidential Party Adilet Secures 71% of Votes in Legislative Elections

The recently established Adilet party, supportive of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has secured just over 71% of the votes in the legislative elections held on Sunday in Kazakhstan, according to the electoral commission. This result is expected to further strengthen the president's grip on the country's political landscape.

The political landscape in Kazakhstan has significantly shaped up following the early legislative elections held on Sunday. According to results announced on Monday by the electoral commission, the Adilet party achieved just over 71% of the votes, establishing itself as the dominant political force in the country.

This victory comes just months after the formation of this party, which is considered close to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

A Party Established Just Months Before the Election

Adilet is a relatively new political formation. Founded at the beginning of 2026, the party is led by several officials close to the Kazakh president.

Shortly after its establishment, Adilet also incorporated the former ruling party, Amanat, thereby consolidating its structures and political presence.

Its score of over 71% in this legislative election thus represents a show of strength for the new presidential formation.

An Election That Could Strengthen Tokayev's Power

The result announced by the electoral commission is expected to reinforce Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's position, with his power likely to be further consolidated as a result of this election.

The Kazakh president has committed in recent years to transforming the country's political system while maintaining strong influence over the institutions.

Adilet's dominance in Parliament should provide important political support for him to continue his agenda and strengthen his control over Kazakhstan's main directions.

A New Political Configuration

This election also marks a new stage in the political reshaping of Kazakhstan, a resource-rich Central Asian country strategically located between Russia, China, and Europe.

With the integration of Amanat and now a score exceeding 70%, Adilet holds a particularly favorable position within the national political landscape.

However, the final results and the complete distribution of seats will allow for a precise measurement of the extent of this victory and its impact on the functioning of the next Parliament.
