Agricultural Innovation in the Digital Age: Technopark Unveils

In a daring initiative aimed at propelling Moroccan agriculture into technological forefront, Technopark recently unveiled "DigitAgri," a revolutionary open innovation program. Sponsored by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, this innovative initiative establishes a strategic partnership with the Digital Pole of Agriculture, Forestry, and Drought Observatory, with the aim of mobilizing the most promising technological startups in service of the digital transformation of the Moroccan agricultural sector.

At a launch ceremony presided over by Mohamed Sadiki, Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water, and Forests, at the 16th edition of SIAM, in the presence of Sarah Lamrani, Secretary General of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, as well as key partners such as the Crédit Agricole du Maroc Group, the Moroccan Interprofessional Sugar Federation, and the National School of Agriculture of Meknes, the collective commitment to digital innovation was sealed, paving the way for a more profitable, attractive, and sustainable agriculture.

The DigitAgri Program is tasked with accelerating the development and deployment of innovative digital solutions and products that address the challenges and priorities of agricultural sectors. By fostering the emergence of a structured and cohesive agro-digital ecosystem around the Network of Digital Farms of Morocco, this initiative aims to catalyze the digital transformation of the sector.

Startups with high digital and technological potential, operating in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, blockchain, RFID, LoRa, robotics, and 3D imaging, and offering innovative solutions to agricultural challenges, are the main beneficiaries of this acceleration program.

Thanks to the strategic and financial support of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, and the close collaboration between Technopark and the Digital Pole of the Ministry of Agriculture, startups selected for DigitAgri will benefit from quality support from specialized executives within the digital ecosystem, structured support from technology and innovation experts, access to experimentation spaces in smart farms, financing for prototyping needs, as well as potential market access and commercialization assistance.

The DigitAgri program is a flagship example of the acceleration programs that Technopark has included in its new startup support policy, thanks to the guidance and support of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform. These initiatives are essential for accelerating the digitalization of the country's strategic sectors and pave the way for the emergence of new innovative economic models that create value and jobs.
