Spain and Morocco Forge Comprehensive Partnership Across All Sectors
In an official statement on Wednesday, Spanish Minister of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration, Elma Saiz, revealed Spain's commitment to enhancing ties with Morocco across diverse sectors.
Addressing the Commission on Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration in Spain's Congress of Deputies, Elma Saiz highlighted the forthcoming phase of bilateral relations, stating that Spain aims to "further bolster" connections with Morocco in all domains.
This announcement follows a recent high-level meeting in Rabat, where both nations agreed on 20 accords to strengthen cooperation. These agreements cover a wide array of issues, ranging from counterterrorism and human trafficking to migration, trade promotion, and investment.
Emphasizing Morocco's positive role in managing migratory flows, Elma Saiz expressed the intention to establish improved channels for regular and orderly migration, facilitating the integration of migrants into society and the labor market.
"All countries aspire to attract and retain talent. We will build on successful circular migration programs, such as those already in place with Morocco," noted Elma Saiz, citing existing models as a blueprint for future initiatives.
As Spain and Morocco solidify their connections in security, economic, and human mobility sectors, Elma Saiz underscored that this new phase of bilateral relations signifies a deepened partnership between the two nations.
