Five individuals have been arrested in Sweden as part of an investigation into the murder of a man, identified in media reports as Salwan Momika. The man was shot and killed after burning copies of the Quran in 2023, sparking protests across several Muslim-majority countries during the summer of that year.

The Swedish police confirmed that the five suspects were apprehended overnight, and the prosecutor has since placed them under arrest. The incident has attracted significant attention due to its connection to the controversial actions of Momika, whose burning of the Quran caused widespread outrage.

Sweden's Prime Minister, Ulf Kristersson, expressed concerns that the murder might be linked to a foreign power. "I can assure you that the security services are deeply involved, as there is clearly a risk of a connection to a foreign entity," Kristersson stated during a press conference. The case continues to unfold, with authorities exploring all possible motives behind the tragic death.
