Kénitra: Stellantis' Automotive Plant Accelerates Its Growth

Kénitra is gradually establishing itself as a strategic link in the Moroccan automotive industry. Since its inauguration in 2019, Stellantis' industrial complex has been enhancing its capabilities and diversifying its production, with the introduction of new models intended for international markets.

The Kénitra site continues its transformation. According to the French specialized media Auto Infos, Stellantis' Moroccan plant is experiencing regular growth and is becoming increasingly important in the automaker's industrial organization.

This dynamic has notably accelerated during the summer of 2026 with the launch of production for the new models Fiat Grizzly and Fiat Fastback. Manufactured in Morocco, these vehicles are based on the Smart Car platform, designed to accommodate various powertrain technologies.

A Plant Gradually Expanding Its Role

The arrival of these two models marks a new step in the development of the Kénitra complex. The site is no longer limited to established production activities: it is gradually expanding its vehicle portfolio and its role within Stellantis' global industrial network.

This evolution is part of a strategy aimed at concentrating several models on common platforms to enhance flexibility and industrial efficiency.

The Smart Car platform allows for the adaptation of the same architecture to vehicles equipped with thermal, hybrid, or 100% electric powertrains. This versatility provides the manufacturer with greater opportunities to respond to evolving demand across different markets.

Morocco Strengthens Its Position in the Automotive Industry

The development of the Kénitra site also illustrates Morocco's progression as an automotive industrial platform focused on exports.

By gradually welcoming new models and integrating common production technologies within the group, the complex strengthens its weight in Stellantis' industrial chain.

For the manufacturer, this organization allows for diversification of its production capabilities while relying on a Moroccan site capable of supporting the evolution of its range.

A Growth Trajectory Set to Continue

The integration of the Fiat Grizzly and Fiat Fastback thus confirms the trajectory followed by the complex since its inauguration. The Kénitra plant is expanding its activity and gradually becoming a more significant element of Stellantis' international industrial framework.

Beyond these two new models, the use of a platform capable of accommodating multiple types of powertrains could provide the site with additional adaptability in response to the rapid transformations of the global automotive market.
