According to the General Directorate of Meteorology, the total area covered by snow in Morocco reached 54,084 square kilometers as of Wednesday, December 17, 2025. This extensive coverage highlights the scale of recent snowfall and its significant contribution to strengthening the country’s water reserves.

Snowfall plays a crucial role in replenishing groundwater and surface water, particularly in mountainous regions where snow acts as a natural reservoir. As temperatures rise, gradual melting allows water to infiltrate the soil, supporting rivers, dams, and agricultural activities downstream.
