Three arrested after fatal assault investigation in Inzegane

Police in Inzegane, near Agadir, have arrested three individuals in connection with a violent altercation that resulted in the death of one person, authorities announced on Saturday.

The arrests were carried out by officers from the Inzegane Security District, operating under the Agadir Police Prefecture, as part of an ongoing judicial investigation into a case involving reciprocal acts of violence that proved fatal.

Victim died after being taken to hospital

According to police, the investigation was launched after a man sustained serious injuries during a confrontation. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his wounds.

Investigators moved quickly to identify and apprehend the two primary suspects. Authorities also recovered the knife believed to have been used during the incident shortly after the assault.

Third suspect identified during investigation

As the inquiry progressed, investigators arrested a third suspect identified as the victim's brother.

Police allege that he also participated in the violent confrontation that preceded the fatal injuries, expanding the scope of the investigation beyond the two initial suspects.

One of the three individuals taken into custody was already known to law enforcement, according to the police statement.

Investigation continues

The victim's body has been transferred for a court-ordered forensic autopsy requested by the competent public prosecutor's office.

Meanwhile, all three suspects remain under judicial investigation as authorities seek to establish the full sequence of events, determine each individual's role in the incident and clarify the motives behind the fatal confrontation.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no further details have been released by Moroccan authorities.
