Minor earthquake briefly felt in rabat

A mild earthquake was briefly felt in Morocco’s capital on Saturday afternoon, according to available seismic data. The tremor was noticed by some residents in Rabat and nearby areas but caused no injuries or material damage.

Witnesses described a short vibration, sometimes perceived as a low rumble or a slight movement of buildings. The event was momentary and did not disrupt daily life or trigger panic among the population.

Specialized seismic monitoring platforms reported that the earthquake had a magnitude of around 3.0 and occurred at an estimated depth of 17 kilometers. The epicenter was located a few kilometers from Rabat, and the tremor was recorded at approximately 3:18 p.m. local time.

Authorities did not report any emergency interventions, and public services continued to operate normally. The incident was classified as minor and had no significant impact on the capital or its surroundings.
