Cartier Saada: Revenue Declines by 28.5% in Q1 2026-2027
Cartier Saada begins its 2026-2027 fiscal year in a more challenging environment. During the period from April to June, the company recorded a revenue of 54.2 million dirhams, compared to 69.7 million dirhams in the same period of the previous fiscal year, marking a decline of 28.5%.
This decline occurs in a context marked by increased pressure on international markets, logistical disruptions, and shipping difficulties that have weighed on the group's activity.
Exports Remain the Main Driver of Activity
Despite the decline recorded during the quarter, international sales continue to play a significant role in Cartier Saada's economic model. Export sales generated nearly 53 million dirhams, representing 97.72% of quarterly revenue.
However, these revenues have decreased by 22.32% compared to the same period last year. In the Moroccan market, revenue stood at 1.23 million dirhams, also showing a decrease of 17.17% year-on-year.
The company's dependence on foreign markets makes its activity particularly sensitive to changes in international demand and competitive conditions in key client countries.
The United States at the Heart of Sales Decline
The decline in exported volumes particularly affects the American market. Cartier Saada explains this trend as a result of increased price competition amid falling global prices.
Faced with perceived more favorable supply conditions in other producing countries, some clients have reportedly reduced their orders from the Moroccan company. This competitive pressure has thus affected commercial performance in one of its main international markets.
Geopolitical Tensions and Logistics Weigh on Activity
Beyond commercial competition, Cartier Saada has also had to deal with disruptions affecting international logistics chains.
Tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, as well as the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, have impacted trade flows and contributed to rising transport costs.
Additionally, constraints encountered at the port of Casablanca have compounded these issues. Weather conditions and repeated closures recorded since the beginning of 2026 have led to operational difficulties and congestion, extending the shipping times for goods.
Investments Maintained Despite Decline
In this context, Cartier Saada has nonetheless continued its investment efforts. During the quarter, the company mobilized 1.1 million dirhams to modernize part of its equipment.
These investments primarily focused on renewing handling equipment and production facilities. The goal is to enhance operational performance, boost productivity, and maintain quality standards.
The start of the 2026-2027 fiscal year thus appears mixed for Cartier Saada. While the company remains heavily focused on international markets, price pressure, competition from producing countries, and logistical difficulties pose challenges that could weigh on its activity in the coming months.
