Cinema Festival 2026: Four Days at 30 DH to Celebrate the 7th Art in Morocco

The Moroccan cinema is set to enjoy four days dedicated to accessibility and sharing. From September 10 to 13, 2026, partner multiplexes across the Kingdom will offer their entire programming at a flat rate of 30 dirhams per screening, in celebration of the third edition of the Cinema Festival.

Following the success of previous editions, the event aims once again to bring audiences closer to the big screen by providing a pricing offer intended for as wide an audience as possible. Families, students, film enthusiasts, and casual viewers will thus be able to discover the films on display under particularly accessible conditions.

An Initiative to Broaden Access to Cinema

Beyond reducing ticket prices, the Cinema Festival aims to be a unifying event for the entire industry. Distributors, exhibitors, and professionals in the sector come together around a common goal: to encourage attendance in theaters and reinforce the place of cinema in cultural habits.

The initiative thus focuses on the collective experience unique to the cinema, in a context where audiovisual content consumption methods are diversifying. By bringing the price of a screening down to 30 DH for four days, the organizers hope to remove some of the barriers that may limit access to the big screen.

“Les Baronnes” with National Release

This third edition will also be marked by the national release of “Les Baronnes,” scheduled for September 9.

Directed by Belgian-Moroccan filmmaker Nabil Ben Yadir, the film comes fifteen years after “Les Barons,” a work that achieved significant success. This new production places women at the center of the narrative and presents a social comedy revolving around several generations of mothers and daughters from diverse backgrounds.

The cast notably includes Mokhtaria Badaoui, who is also a co-director, as well as Saadia Bentaieb, Rachida Riahi, Rachida Boughanem, Halima Amrani, and Sanya Sridi.

A Third Edition Focused on the General Public

With four days of programming at a single price, the Cinema Festival 2026 aims to confirm its status as a major cultural event. The event seeks to combine economic accessibility and the promotion of cinematic creation while encouraging increased attendance at multiplexes.
