Royal Air Maroc becomes key partner for African football events
In a landmark agreement ahead of the most prestigious African sporting events, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has designated Royal Air Maroc (RAM) as the official global partner for several major tournaments. These include the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025, the TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024, and a range of other CAF competitions.
As part of this partnership, Morocco’s national airline will be responsible for managing air transport logistics to and from competition venues. This role extends to the U-17 and U-20 editions of AFCON in 2025, the CAF Champions League Finals 2024-2025, the CAF Confederation Cup Finals 2024-2025, and the CAF Women’s Champions League 2025.
RAM is thus positioning itself as a leading logistical force in support of African sports mobility. This strategic role is expected to evolve through to the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Morocco will co-host, further enhancing the country’s global visibility.
CAF President Patrice Motsepe expressed his appreciation for the partnership, stating he was "honored to count on a company of such stature to support participating nations with high standards of comfort and safety." He also encouraged other African companies to join this continental movement in support of African football.
Royal Air Maroc CEO Hamid Addou praised the agreement as being rooted in a shared vision of excellence and deep continental ties. He announced that RAM will implement an exceptional operational and commercial system to ensure that players, officials, and fans can travel smoothly to the football celebrations.
To support this mission, RAM will expand its flight schedules according to demand, particularly from qualified African countries, while also considering the needs of the African diaspora. A temporary fleet increase will help maintain seamless, accessible, and timely transport throughout the events.
Beyond the technical aspects, this partnership solidifies RAM’s role in strengthening bonds across African nations, uniting the continent through a common passion for football.
