Morocco’s Culture and Safety Lauded by French Political Figure
Morocco has emerged as a beacon of cultural richness and safety in recent years, earning accolades from notable international figures. French opposition politician Jordan Bardella recently praised the country for its vibrant cultural heritage and secure environment, contrasting it with the challenges faced by France.
Speaking on a French television program, Bardella highlighted Morocco’s sense of stability and pride, describing it as a nation that instills a unique sense of belonging in its visitors. He lamented France's growing social and security issues, expressing admiration for Morocco’s enduring values.
Bardella’s connection to Morocco extends to his personal life. In his book Ce que je cherche (What I Look For), published in November, he recounts fond childhood memories of vacations in Casablanca at his grandfather’s residence. He reflects on the happiness he experienced under the Moroccan sun and the welcoming atmosphere that defined his visits. His grandfather, a Frenchman who chose to settle in Morocco, admired the country for its warmth and tranquility, citing the erosion of similar qualities in France as a driving factor for his move.
The politician’s remarks align with recent accolades for Morocco, which was ranked among the safest countries for travelers in 2025. The Global Terrorism Index 2024 also noted Morocco’s notable advancements in security measures.
Morocco’s cultural and natural appeal continues to attract global attention. Tourists flock to its historic cities like Fez, Marrakesh, and Meknes, as well as its breathtaking natural landmarks, including the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert. Coastal gems like Essaouira and Taghazout further enhance its allure.
This dual strength—cultural richness and a focus on safety—positions Morocco as a standout destination in the MENA region, showcasing its commitment to both heritage and modern security.
