Morocco and Germany Strengthen Cooperation in Investments and Energy
The Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, Convergence, and Policy Evaluation, Mohcine Jazouli, has held a meeting with Robert Dolger, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Morocco, as part of preparations for a promotional campaign to be organized by the ministry and the National Agency for Investment and Export Development in Germany. The aim is to promote the Moroccan offer and strengthen investment dynamics. The meeting was described as "productive" by Minister Jazouli.
Discussions focused on exploring investment opportunities and strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries. This meeting is part of preparations for a roadshow organized by the delegated ministry and the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE) to present Morocco as an attractive investment destination for German companies.
The roadshow will kick off in Munich on April 24, with the participation of Zouhour Alaoui, Ambassador of His Majesty the King in Germany, along with Mohcine Jazouli, Ali Seddiki, Director General of AMDIE, and Mehdi Tazi, Vice President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Companies (CGEM). The event promises to be an opportunity to discuss perspectives in the industry, initiatives in clean energy, foster collaborative enterprises, as well as explore the potential of the Moroccan market and promote bilateral partnerships.
The topic of energy will undoubtedly be prominent in discussions between Moroccan and German officials. The Moroccan delegation includes Badr Ikken, President of the Morocco-Germany Business Council at the CGEM, who is one of the most knowledgeable leaders in the field of energy and research, having served as the Director General of the Research Institute in Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN) for many years. The event comes shortly after the announcement of Morocco's Offer in the green hydrogen sector.
In accordance with royal directives and instructions, the head of government Aziz Akhannouch issued a circular for the implementation of Morocco's Offer for the development of the green hydrogen industry. This agreement between Morocco and Germany aims to develop the green hydrogen production sector and establish research and investment projects in its use as an ecological energy source.
In November 2023, the head of government Aziz Akhannouch held talks in Berlin with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to promote cooperation between the two countries in all areas. During this meeting, both parties celebrated the distinguished partnership between the two countries and reviewed current and future challenges.
