Libyan Prime Minister Abdelhamid Dbeibah hospitalized in Italy for medical check-up
Libyan Prime Minister Abdelhamid Dbeibah was hospitalized in Italy on Thursday for a general medical check-up but is reported to be in good health, according to a statement he posted on social media Friday evening.
Italian media reported that Dbeibah was admitted to the prestigious San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, known for its cardiology department and past treatment of former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. The Prime Minister clarified that the examination was not the main reason for his trip abroad, adding that he had previously received medical care in Libya.
“I assure you that I am well, thanks to God,” Dbeibah said in the statement. He explained that the visit allowed him to undergo additional medical tests as a precaution, and the results confirmed the success of his previous treatment in Libya.
The Libyan government has not provided further details on the nature of the check-up, emphasizing that the Prime Minister remains in good health and continues to fulfill his official duties.
