Liberia deeply grateful for King’s commitment to ocean preservation
Liberia’s Vice-President, Jeremiah Koung, expressed his country’s deep gratitude on Monday in Nice for the steadfast dedication of His Majesty King Mohammed VI toward the protection of the oceans.
He described the King’s message delivered during the “Africa for the Ocean” summit as deeply inspiring and affirmed Liberia’s strong appreciation for the Sovereign’s commitment to safeguarding marine environments.
Koung also praised the longstanding partnership between Liberia and the Kingdom, highlighting their joint efforts toward the mutual development of both nations.
The “Africa for the Ocean” summit, co-chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa as the King’s representative and the French President, was held as part of the third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3) in Nice, continuing until June 13.
The summit aims to develop practical regional solutions focused on marine governance, sustainable fisheries management, connectivity between coastal and landlocked states, and financing resilient, modern infrastructure to support these efforts.
