Morocco school calendar 2026-2027: all upcoming holiday dates

Families across Morocco now have a clearer view of the main school breaks scheduled for the 2026-2027 academic year, following the publication of the official framework governing the organisation of the school year.

The calendar, issued by the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, covers pupils in primary education, lower secondary and upper secondary schools, as well as students enrolled in programmes preparing for the Higher Technician Certificate.

First break scheduled for October

The first school holiday of the academic year is set to take place from Sunday, October 18, to Sunday, October 25, 2026.

The eight-day break will provide pupils with their first extended pause after the start of the new school year.

A second holiday period has been scheduled for Sunday, December 6, to Sunday, December 13, 2026, giving students another break before the end of the first half of the academic year.

Winter break follows in January

Students will then benefit from the end-of-semester holiday between Sunday, January 24, and Sunday, January 31, 2027.

The timing places the break at the transition between the first and second parts of the academic year, offering schools and families a pause before classes resume for the following term.

Spring holidays spread across March and May

The third school holiday is scheduled from Sunday, March 21, to Sunday, March 28, 2027.

The final holiday period of the academic year will take place from May 9 to May 16, 2027, completing the four main holiday periods set out in the national calendar.

These dates apply to the education cycles covered by the ministry’s decision, subject to the specific arrangements applicable to each educational level or institution.

National and religious holidays also included

Beyond the four main school breaks, the 2026-2027 calendar incorporates additional days off linked to Morocco’s national and religious celebrations.

These holidays will be distributed throughout the academic year and will add further pauses to the regular school timetable.

For parents and students, the publication of the calendar provides an opportunity to anticipate periods of travel, family activities and academic preparation well in advance. The dates also give schools a framework for organising teaching schedules, assessments and other activities throughout the academic year.
