High copper grades reported at Morocco’s Tifernine project

Morocco Strategic Minerals Corporation (TSXV: MCC) has reported significant results from its July sampling program at the Tifernine Copper Project, located southeast of Ouarzazate in Morocco. The Canadian exploration company highlighted high-grade copper mineralization across multiple structures within the 16 km² site, where it holds an option to acquire a 100% interest.

Sampling results reveal high mineral content

The exploration focused on three mineralized structures, with the largest, ST1, extending over 600 meters and reaching widths of up to 11 meters. Nearby structures ST2 and ST3 measure approximately 100 and 110 meters long, with widths up to 2 meters.

Sampling included 14-channel samples from ST1, comprising 76 individual samples taken at 1-meter intervals, alongside five grab samples from ST2 and ST3. Analyses conducted at Afrilab Laboratory in Marrakech revealed copper grades exceeding 1.00% in five channel samples, with a peak value of 2.30%. Three samples also reported over 1.00% oxide copper (CuOX), reaching a maximum of 1.72%.

Gold was detected in 42 samples above the 0.05 g/t threshold, with the highest concentration at 0.30 g/t. Zinc results were equally promising, with values exceeding 0.50% in 13 samples, including one showing a remarkable 17.75%.

Structural controls and untapped potential

Pierre-Olivier Goulet, Vice President of Corporate Development, described the mineralization at Tifernine as structurally controlled, occurring within veins and shear zones. He also noted the presence of gold and zinc anomalies, highlighting the polymetallic nature of the property and its untapped potential.

Geologically, the Tifernine property is part of an Ediacaran rhyolitic and andesitic complex intersected by ENE-WSW-oriented faults. Copper mineralization is found both in veins and as disseminations within volcanic rocks.

Next steps in exploration

The company plans to implement follow-up exploration programs, including detailed geological mapping and trenching, to assess mineralization continuity and identify additional targets. Tifernine is located just 10 kilometers from the BMR property, another key exploration site for the company, and is easily accessible via the N9 road connecting Ouarzazate and Zagora.

Market response

Following the announcement, Morocco Strategic Minerals Corporation saw its stock rise by 12.50%, outperforming commodity indexes such as the S&P GSCI Copper Index, which gained 0.75%, and the S&P GSCI Zinc Index, which rose by 1.93%.

The technical findings were verified by Merouane Rachidi, an independent qualified professional under Canada’s National Instrument 43-101.
