As the second edition of GITEX AFRICA, the continent's largest technology and start-up event, unfolds, HP Inc (NYSE: HPQ) takes center stage, unveiling its latest advancements in personal systems, gaming, printing, and hybrid work solutions. Aligning with this year's theme, "Creating a Bold Future for Africa," HP's participation is a resounding testament to its commitment to accelerating the emergence of innovative technological communities across the region.

The overarching goal is clear: to bring together global leaders, disruptive technologies, and audacious start-ups, shaping the technological landscape of tomorrow on African soil. By fostering collaboration and innovation, GITEX AFRICA serves as a catalyst for driving the continent's digital transformation.

Navigating the Hybrid Work Era

As hybrid work models gain traction worldwide, a global study by Quorica on the future of work reveals that remote work is expected to rise from 36% to 44% by 2025. This growing preference for hybrid work underscores the importance for businesses to adopt a flexible approach that resonates with their employees, retaining talent and maintaining productivity.

Concurrently, generative AI is emerging as the next technological wave, transforming businesses and industries on a global scale. According to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, AI holds the potential to boost the African economy by $1.5 trillion by 2030.

Ertug Ayik, Managing Director of HP Middle East and Africa, expressed his enthusiasm for HP's participation at GITEX AFRICA, stating: "We are truly delighted to participate in GITEX AFRICA for the second consecutive year, particularly because we share the ambition of creating a bold future for the continent. This aligns perfectly with our equally bold 'HP Future Ready' strategy, which is at the heart of our company's actions."

The Potential of AI to Enhance Work Relationships

While hybrid and flexible work models are widely adopted, many employees feel "disconnected" from their work and experience digital fatigue. According to HP's 2023 Work Relationships Index, only 27% of employees report having a good relationship with their work, while 83% advocate for a reassessment of work dynamics. Workers in growth economies show greater openness to AI, with 76% believing it will make their work easier and 75% thinking it will make it more interesting, compared to 48% and 44% in mature economies, respectively.

The Work Relationships Index also highlights the need for leaders to strategically integrate AI into work processes, as it can act as a catalyst for transformation. More than 40% of employees feel lost when it comes to using AI and indicate a lack of skills to fully harness its potential. However, the majority of leaders and workers support the need for training and upskilling. Many employees see AI as a means to improve job satisfaction and streamline tasks. Thus, access to appropriate AI tools, adequate training, and cutting-edge technologies is essential for a successful transition.

Towards Greater Personalization

HP is embarking on an ambitious mission to unlock the potential of AI, initiating significant advancements within organizations. By introducing the industry's most extensive AI PC portfolio, HP is profoundly transforming work experiences, offering greater personalization for enhanced efficiency while redefining technological interactions in the workplace.

"We are thrilled to be the company that enables improvements in work and life through adaptable and flexible AI-powered solutions. By leveraging the best scientific data, AI, machine learning, and automation, we are also proud to be at the forefront of what AI can bring to our customers in Africa and beyond," declares Ertug Ayik, Managing Director of HP Middle East and Africa.

The new HP Elite PCs, the world's most advanced professional laptops for collaboration, and the Z by HP mobile workstations, delivering new levels of productivity and creativity, exemplify this commitment. HP has also launched the AI Creation Centre, the world's most comprehensive workstation solution for AI development. The Z by HP AI Studio, co-designed with NVIDIA NGC libraries, enables data scientists to maximize AI creation.

Additionally, HP has expanded its range of certified solutions for conference rooms and headsets with the new Poly Studio solutions, enhancing collaboration in the era of hybrid work models. HP is also offering the world's first commercial PCs designed to protect firmware against quantum computer hacking. The Endpoint Security Controller (ESC) chip ensures the utmost security for sensitive data.
