The Moroccan Competition Council has issued a stern warning to the behemoths of the oil industry, emphasizing the consequences of failing to honor their commitments. Council President Ahmed Rahhou, in a recent interview, shed light on the persistent scrutiny of the country's diesel and gasoline markets, revealing a damning August report outlining numerous grievances against nine undisclosed oil giants engaged in anti-competitive practices.
According to Rahhou, the accused corporations, considered industry leaders, are charged with "restricting market access and impeding price formation through fair competition." These actions directly contradict the promises made by these companies to avoid sanctions months ago. Rahhou disclosed that the companies had entered into an agreement with the Council, promising to align their operations with competition laws.
