Robotic surgery marks a major breakthrough at Mohammed V military hospital
Mohammed V Military Teaching Hospital in Rabat has successfully carried out four highly delicate surgical procedures using advanced robotic surgery technology. The operations focused on removing tumors affecting the kidneys and the prostate, marking a significant milestone in Morocco’s military healthcare system.
The interventions were performed under optimal medical conditions and met internationally recognized surgical standards. Thanks to robotic assistance, surgeons were able to operate with exceptional precision, allowing complete tumor removal while preserving surrounding healthy tissues. This approach also helped reduce blood loss and speed up patient recovery.
Medical officials highlighted that the success of these procedures reflects sustained efforts to modernize healthcare services and strengthen the technical and human capacities of military medical institutions. Specialized training programs were implemented to prepare surgical teams both technically and psychologically for this high-precision environment, which requires extreme focus and accuracy.
The hospital has recently established a state-of-the-art unit dedicated to robotic surgery, equipped with multiple operating rooms and cutting-edge technology. This facility enables the treatment of complex medical conditions requiring advanced surgical expertise.
Beyond serving national needs, the hospital also welcomes patients from several African countries, reinforcing Morocco’s commitment to South-South cooperation and medical knowledge sharing. This development further positions the institution as a regional center of excellence in advanced healthcare and medical innovation.
