Four suspects placed under judicial supervision after concert disruption at Paris Philharmonie
Four individuals — three men and one woman — have been formally charged and placed under judicial supervision following disturbances during a concert by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra at the Philharmonie de Paris.
The suspects, detained since Thursday evening, appeared before an investigative judge on Sunday afternoon. They face accusations including property damage with dangerous means, endangering others, possession of incendiary devices, organizing an unauthorized demonstration, refusing police identification procedures, and violence involving weapons, according to the Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The court has imposed restrictions prohibiting the suspects from entering Paris, its immediate surroundings, and cultural venues. A judicial investigation has been launched and is ongoing.
During the Thursday performance, ticket-holding attendees attempted to interrupt the concert, reportedly using smoke bombs on two occasions. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez stated:
“There is no reason that justifies putting spectators’ lives at risk.”
The Cité de la Musique – Philharmonie de Paris filed a complaint and strongly condemned the incidents. Culture Minister Rachida Dati emphasized that:
“Violence has no place in a concert hall. The freedom of programming and artistic creation is a fundamental right of our Republic.”
