Morocco–UK trade surpasses £5.3 billion as bilateral commerce continues to grow

Trade between Morocco and the United Kingdom continued its upward trajectory over the twelve months ending in March 2026, with total bilateral commerce exceeding £5.3 billion, according to official figures released by the UK government. The increase reflects the strengthening economic relationship between the two countries and the growing importance of their trade partnership.

The latest data show that British exports to Morocco recorded robust growth, while imports from Morocco also increased, contributing to a significant expansion in overall trade. The improvement helped reduce the United Kingdom's trade deficit with Morocco and highlighted the balanced nature of commercial exchanges between the two markets.

Merchandise trade remained the largest component of bilateral commerce, accounting for the majority of total trade value, while services also continued to play an important role. The figures demonstrate the diversity of economic cooperation, covering manufacturing, agriculture, energy, transportation, and professional services.

Among the United Kingdom's key exports to Morocco are industrial products, machinery, energy-related goods, and technology, while Morocco's exports include fresh agricultural products, automotive components, electrical equipment, and other manufactured goods. This diversified trade structure reflects the expanding integration of both economies across multiple sectors.

The steady growth in commercial exchanges has been supported by the bilateral trade agreement between Morocco and the United Kingdom, which has provided businesses with greater market access and encouraged investment opportunities. Companies from both countries continue to explore new areas of cooperation, particularly in renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, logistics, and digital innovation.

Economic analysts view the latest figures as a sign of the resilience of bilateral relations despite global economic uncertainties.
