Fire at Nouaceur station temporarily disrupts Casablanca–South rail traffic
Casablanca / October 18, 2025 — A fire broke out early Saturday morning, around 4:00 a.m., in the technical area of Nouaceur station, causing significant disruptions to passenger train services between Casablanca and southern Moroccan cities.
The blaze affected the railway signaling systems, leading to temporary delays. Authorities reported that, thanks to the rapid and coordinated response of the Office National des Chemins de Fer (ONCF) and civil protection teams, the fire was brought under control without any injuries.
ONCF technical teams are continuing their repair work to restore rail traffic as quickly as possible and ensure normal service resumes along the affected route.
