Erdogan pledges strict measures against airspace violations
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reaffirmed Türkiye’s firm stance against airspace violations and emphasized ongoing efforts to strengthen national security.
In a video message to citizens marking Ramadan Bayram (Eid al-Fitr), Erdogan highlighted the responsibility of the government toward 86 million people and underscored the importance of vigilance and prudence. “While taking a firm stance against violations of our airspace, we continue to work toward peace and security for our nation,” he said.
The president also addressed regional tensions, noting the challenges faced by Palestinians in Gaza, East Jerusalem, and the West Bank, as well as in southern Lebanon. He condemned attacks that disrupt ceasefires and block humanitarian aid, stressing Türkiye’s concern for stability in the region.
Erdogan further mentioned the February 28 attacks on Iran and subsequent missile and drone responses, which have heightened regional tensions. He highlighted that despite these challenges, Türkiye remains committed to national security and careful diplomacy.
The president spoke about the “Terror-Free Türkiye” initiative launched 17 months ago, noting significant progress in stabilizing northern Syria and preserving the country’s territorial integrity. He expressed a desire to safely conclude ongoing reconciliation processes while preventing escalation in the region.
On the economic front, Erdogan noted Türkiye’s 3.6% growth in 2025, making it the third fastest-growing OECD country last year, despite increasing global uncertainty.
The message combined national security priorities with regional diplomacy and economic resilience, signaling Türkiye’s proactive approach amid ongoing geopolitical challenges.
