DigiSchool advances inclusive and innovative digital education in Morocco

The DigiSchool initiative, launched by the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports in partnership with Huawei Morocco, reached a major milestone in 2025, reinforcing its strategic role in the digital transformation of Morocco’s education sector. The program has successfully engaged thousands of teachers and students nationwide while expanding its impact through regional and local activities.

Nationwide momentum for digital learning

Since its launch in 2024, DigiSchool has built a strong community of educators and learners trained in educational technologies. In 2025, the program intensified its efforts with targeted teacher training sessions and hands-on workshops for students, anchoring digital practices even in rural schools and broadening the program’s reach.

A four-phase rollout

DigiSchool’s structure comprises four distinct phases, each aimed at integrating digital tools and promoting inclusive, forward-looking education:

Phase 1: Teacher and student training – Teacher ambassadors were trained to guide peers and lead DigiSchool clubs, obtaining Huawei certifications in specialized areas. Four new schools per Regional Academy joined, with 60 students and three teachers per school participating. Across 12 Regional Academies, 48 schools, 502 teachers, and 3,171 students benefited directly.

Phase 2: Implementation and support – Follow-up workshops ensured educators effectively incorporated digital tools, addressed field challenges, and shared knowledge within schools, supporting long-term adoption.

Phase 3: Local fairs and regional hackathons – One hundred local fairs identified top-performing teams, followed by 12 regional hackathons selecting participants for the national bootcamp. Over 38,000 students and 2,000 teachers were involved, showcasing innovation, collaboration, and creativity in digital projects.

Phase 4: National bootcamp and closing ceremony – From February 14 to 16, 2026, 12 finalist regional teams presented their projects at a three-day national bootcamp, culminating in the Demo Day where the top three teams were celebrated.

Strategic partnership driving transformation

The program’s success is anchored in the collaboration between the Ministry and Huawei Morocco. Anis Liu, Vice President of Huawei Morocco, highlighted that DigiSchool embodies the vision of a digital and inclusive future, equipping students and teachers with skills for the 21st century.

Promising prospects

With its structured approach and public-private collaboration, DigiSchool has created a vibrant ecosystem for educational innovation. Morocco is now moving toward a modern, inclusive, and digitally prepared education system, ready to meet future technological challenges.
