Bayt Mal Al-Qods agency launches broad social campaign ahead of Ramadan
As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency has rolled out a wide-ranging social support campaign aimed at assisting vulnerable families in Al-Qods (Jerusalem) and its surrounding areas.
The initiative, launched in the Holy City, forms part of the agency’s annual humanitarian program. The institution operates under the Al-Quds Committee, chaired by HM king Mohammed VI, and focuses on strengthening social resilience and sustainable development for Palestinian residents.
Food aid and social support
This year’s campaign includes the distribution of 5,000 food baskets to families in need across the governorate of Al-Qods, along with the provision of 20,000 daily iftar meals through several social centers during Ramadan. The program also covers Eid al-Fitr clothing for 500 orphans supported by the agency, in addition to medical outreach campaigns and religious and community activities.
Beyond immediate relief, the initiative incorporates training sessions for local associations, particularly in areas such as commercial marketing skills and human development project management. The aim is to combine short-term assistance with long-term empowerment.
Promoting Moroccan craftsmanship
In parallel, the agency has launched a “Moroccan Crafts Training Week” at a local foundation in Beit Hanina, under its program dedicated to local initiatives for human development in Al-Qods. The workshops are led by Moroccan artisans specializing in traditional weaving, wood carving and silverwork.
The training blends practical workshops with theoretical sessions focused on product development and quality standards. Organizers say the objective is to pass on ancestral Moroccan know-how while equipping Jerusalem-based artisans and young trainees with higher value-added skills. The program also seeks to foster professional networks between Moroccan and Palestinian craftsmen.
Boosting entrepreneurship and trade
The agency has also concluded a first training cycle on professional competencies in import-export, organized in partnership with a local chamber of commerce. The sessions addressed value chains, logistics management and access to international markets, with the goal of modernizing business practices and enhancing competitiveness.
This effort aligns with a broader strategy structured around three pillars: digital marketing support through an online platform, technical assistance and training, and innovation backing via a project incubator known as “BMAQ Innovation Hub.” Together, these measures aim to better integrate Al-Qods’ local economy into modern value chains and ensure the sustainability of emerging businesses.
Through these programs, the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency seeks to reinforce the socio-economic resilience of Jerusalem’s Palestinian population, combining humanitarian solidarity with capacity-building initiatives ahead of Ramadan.
