Morocco Secures Seat on African Union Advisory Board on Corruption
Nadia Annouz Elected with Overwhelming Support
In a significant development, Morocco has been elected to the African Union Advisory Board on Corruption (AUABC) during the 45th Ordinary Session of the AU Executive Council, which took place in Accra, Ghana.
Nadia Annouz, currently the vice-president of Morocco's National Authority for Integrity, Prevention, and the Fight against Corruption, will represent the country on this esteemed board for a six-year term. Annouz’s election is a notable achievement, having secured an overwhelming majority of 35 votes, underscoring Morocco’s recognized expertise and dedication to combating corruption on both national and continental fronts.
Morocco’s Delegation at the Forefront
The Moroccan delegation at the session was led by Nasser Bourita, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates. Accompanying Bourita were key figures such as Mohamed Arrouchi, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Morocco to the AU and ECA-UN, and Mohamed Methqal, the Ambassador and Director-General of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation. The team also included Imane Ouaadil, the Ambassador of Morocco to Ghana, and Hassane Boukili, the Director of the Great Maghreb, UMA, and AU Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates.
