Mohamed Ramadan films official AFCON 2025 anthem in Marrakech
Egyptian artist Mohamed Ramadan is currently in Marrakech, where he is filming the music video for the official anthem of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025, set to take place in Morocco later this winter.
The singer and actor confirmed the news during a recent appearance on an Egyptian television program, explaining that the choice of Marrakech was driven by its strong artistic identity and striking visual appeal. The city’s historic architecture and cultural atmosphere are expected to play a central role in the final production.
This project marks Ramadan’s second involvement in producing an official anthem for the continent’s premier football tournament. He previously performed the song for the last edition of the competition, an experience he described as a major milestone in his career.
Mohamed Ramadan has emphasized that his renewed participation reflects a long-term ambition to strengthen his artistic presence across Africa. Unlike many Egyptian artists who focus mainly on Middle Eastern audiences, he has repeatedly expressed his desire to connect with a broader African public and contribute to the continent’s cultural scene.
With the AFCON 2025 approaching, the artist hopes that this new anthem will not only energize fans but also highlight Morocco’s role as host of one of Africa’s most important sporting events.
