Rabat enhances rail infrastructure ahead of CAN 2025

The construction of the new railway station in the Riyad district of Rabat is progressing steadily, with over 50% of the work completed. The station is set to open in September 2025, just a few months before Morocco hosts the African Cup of Nations in December of the same year.

Designed to complement the existing Rabat Ville and Rabat Agdal stations, this new facility will significantly strengthen the capital's railway infrastructure. Spanning 4,500 square meters, it is strategically located near the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex, ensuring convenient access for spectators attending major sporting events.

Equipped with modern services, the station will feature parking areas, retail spaces, advanced surveillance systems, and comfortable waiting zones, all aimed at enhancing travel quality and passenger experience.

This project is part of a broader initiative to modernize Rabat’s infrastructure in preparation for both the 2025 African Cup of Nations and the 2030 FIFA World Cup. It underscores Morocco’s commitment to developing a modern and sustainable transportation network aligned with urban expansion.
