Visual arts contest spotlights youth creativity and environmental challenges

The Fondation Attijariwafa bank has announced the launch of the second edition of its national visual arts contest, #ImagineTaVille. This initiative underscores the foundation's commitment to supporting art and youth, aiming to foster emerging talent and encourage creative exploration of pressing contemporary issues through visual arts.

This year's edition invites participants to express their perspectives on environmental challenges, both locally and globally. Topics such as climate change, water management, and sustainable development are at the heart of the competition. By using mediums such as photography, animation, video, and augmented reality, entrants are encouraged to bring their unique artistic vision to life.

The call for applications is open to all interested individuals and can be accessed via the official Attijariwafa bank website until March 15, 2025. The foundation emphasizes the importance of diversity in artistic practices, blending traditional and modern forms of expression to create a rich and inclusive platform for creativity.

A distinguished panel of experts from the art world will evaluate the submissions. The jury includes Abla Ababou, gallerist and journalist; Mohamed Rachdi, artist, art critic, and exhibition curator; Zine El Abidine El Amine, visual artist; and Mehdi Guedira, corporate social responsibility (CSR) manager for the Attijariwafa bank group. Four winners will be selected, and their works will be exhibited for two months at the Actua art space in Casablanca, managed by the foundation.

To support participants throughout the competition, the foundation will share a variety of content on its social media channels. This includes interviews, explanatory videos, and practical information designed to enhance the candidates’ experience and boost the contest's visibility.

Individuals from across Morocco are encouraged to follow the contest updates via the Fondation Attijariwafa bank’s digital platforms. Applications remain open until midnight on March 15, 2025.
