Western allies are showing increased skepticism toward the United States as a reliable global actor, with new polling indicating that public confidence in American leadership is steadily eroding across Canada and Western Europe. The trend reflects unease surrounding Washington's foreign policy direction and its political messaging toward the continent.

Recent surveys reveal that a majority of Canadians and large segments of the populations in Germany and France now view the United States as a destabilizing rather than stabilizing influence in world affairs. Many respondents believe Washington creates more problems than it solves, citing inconsistent diplomacy and internal political volatility as key reasons behind this perception.

Analysts suggest these attitudes mirror the increasingly cautious tone adopted by European leaders, who have sought to assert greater autonomy in defense and diplomacy.
