A new era for a unified Morocco from Tangier to Lagouira
HM King Mohammed VI affirmed that, starting from October 31, 2025, Morocco will enter a new stage as a fully united nation exercising its sovereign rights across its entire territory from Tangier to Lagouira. In a national address delivered following the adoption of Resolution 2797 concerning the Moroccan Sahara, the Monarch emphasized that this milestone represents the reaffirmation of Morocco’s historical territorial unity.
The Sovereign declared that “the time has come for a united Morocco, stretching from Tangier to Lagouira, whose rights and borders shall not be challenged nor violated.” He welcomed the adoption of the resolution, which recognizes the Autonomy Plan proposed by Morocco as the only credible and realistic basis for reaching a definitive settlement.
According to HM King Mohammed VI, this development marks a decisive turning point in the modern history of the Kingdom. “We are living a pivotal moment. From now on, there will be a before and an after October 31, 2025,” he stated.
This moment also coincides with two significant national anniversaries: the 50th anniversary of the Green March and the 70th anniversary of Morocco’s Independence. The Monarch noted that the convergence of these historic dates adds symbolic depth to this new era.
