This unannounced trip, involving meetings with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, highlights Morocco's proactive approach amid a shifting geopolitical landscape.

The backdrop of Bourita's visit is critical geopolitical instability in the Maghreb and Sahel regions, largely attributed to Algeria’s confrontational foreign policy.
