Volkswagen Celebrates 75 Years in the Kingdom

Since 1951, Volkswagen has been a part of the Moroccan automotive landscape. In 2026, the German brand will celebrate 75 years of presence in the Kingdom, a longevity that reflects a lasting relationship with several generations of drivers.

This story has developed alongside the Centrale Automobile Chérifienne (CAC), the exclusive importer of Volkswagen in Morocco since the brand's arrival in the country. The partnership between the two entities also reaches a symbolic milestone with this 75th year.

However, for Volkswagen Morocco, this anniversary is not just an institutional retrospective. The brand has chosen to tell these decades through the voices of those who lived them, giving a platform to several Volkswagen owners.

Their testimonials highlight a more intimate dimension of the automobile. Over the years, certain cars have become associated with family memories, travels, vacations, or moments shared between parents and children. For some owners, spotting an old Volkswagen on the streets can evoke childhood and family-related memories.

This emotional dimension is one of the major themes of the anniversary campaign launched by Volkswagen Morocco. The brand aims to show how a car can gradually surpass its practical role to become a part of family memory.

“A Volkswagen is not just a car. It is often a piece of our life, our childhood, our history,” emphasizes Youssef Touhami, Director of Volkswagen Morocco, highlighting this special relationship built over generations.

To accompany this celebration, Volkswagen Morocco is also launching a manifesto film dedicated to these personal stories. The production provides initial visibility to the various testimonials and sets the tone for a campaign that will be developed in the coming weeks.

The brand plans to gradually unveil the complete stories of several owners. Through different journeys and succeeding generations, Volkswagen Morocco aims to highlight a collective memory shaped by individual experiences.

This approach allows the 75th anniversary to take on a dimension that goes beyond mere commercial chronology. It also narrates the evolution of a relationship between an automotive brand and its customers, through vehicles that have accompanied different stages of their lives.

By celebrating this story, Volkswagen Morocco chooses to look both at its past and at the generations that continue to keep the brand alive in the Kingdom.
