Sub-Saharan man wanted by Belgian justice arrested in Tangier

Moroccan authorities arrested a 38-year-old man from a Sub-Saharan African country in Tangier on Tuesday, March 3, following an international arrest warrant issued by Belgian authorities. The arrest was carried out by the National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ) after a check in the Interpol database confirmed that the suspect was wanted internationally for financial fraud.

Interpol’s red notice had been requested by the Brussels National Central Bureau as part of an investigation into a criminal network involved in fraud and financial scams. The suspect is now subject to extradition procedures under the guidance of the relevant public prosecutor’s office.

The Interpol National Central Bureau in Rabat, operating under the General Directorate for National Security (DGSN), has notified Belgian authorities of the arrest.

Officials emphasized that this operation reflects Morocco’s ongoing commitment to strengthening international security cooperation and targeting individuals wanted for transnational crimes.
