Essaouira: A New Villa of Arts Opens to Foster Dialogue Between Creation and Cultures

Essaouira further enriches its cultural landscape with the opening of a new venue dedicated to contemporary creation. Named "La Villa des Arts by Flavie", this space envisioned by Franco-Korean artist and creator Flavie Bébéar was inaugurated on Saturday, in the presence of personalities from the artistic, cultural, and media sectors.

Located in the City of Alizés, the new structure aims to go beyond the traditional concept of a gallery. Contemporary art, design, objects, materials, well-being, and cultural encounters are all gathered in the same space designed to encourage exchanges and discovery.

A Project Nourished by Three Cultures

Flavie Bébéar's journey forms one of the foundations of this new venue. Between the Republic of Korea, France, and Morocco, the founder has developed an artistic universe enriched by multiple influences that she now wishes to bring together in Essaouira.

The venue is intentionally designed to be human-scaled, with a scenography centered around artworks, furniture, objects, and colors. This approach seeks less to impose a boundary between disciplines than to create a holistic experience around creation.

Essaouira as an Artistic Choice

After evolving in various international environments, Flavie Bébéar chose Essaouira to bring her project to life.

This choice aligns with the unique identity of the city, known for its cultural openness and influences from various horizons. For the founder, the City of Alizés thus represents a privileged ground to make the Villa a space for encounters, transmission, and the circulation of ideas.

The stated ambition is also to create a community around creation and to highlight personalities likely to inspire new generations.

Exhibitions and Beyond

The programming of the Villa des Arts is not expected to be limited to exhibitions. The new space also plans to host concerts, conferences, workshops, and openings.

This diversity aims to bring together different profiles: painter-artists, musicians, composers, philosophers, designers, and other actors from the world of creation and thought.

The project thus intends to foster encounters that transcend the boundaries between disciplines and generations.

A New Space in the Cultural Dynamics of Essaouira

With this opening, Essaouira confirms its attractiveness to creators who wish to engage in a culturally open environment.

La Villa des Arts by Flavie complements an already rich ecosystem, while offering a unique approach that blends contemporary art, design, and cultural programming.

Through this project, Flavie Bébéar primarily aims to make her venue a lively place, where artworks serve as a starting point for conversation, transmission, and encounters. An ambition that finds a particularly conducive setting in Essaouira.
