Chefchaouen:Young man rescued after disappearing during snowstorm
Emergency teams from Chefchaouen’s Civil Protection, assisted by local volunteers, rescued a young man on Tuesday evening after he went missing for several hours in the Talassemtane Mountains, amid harsh winter conditions marked by heavy snowfall and extremely low temperatures.
According to local sources, the young man was on an excursion with friends in Talassemtane National Park when contact was lost, prompting an extensive search operation involving residents familiar with the rugged mountainous terrain.
After several hours of searching, rescuers located the victim suffering from a fracture that prevented him from moving. Despite thick snow and frozen ground, he was evacuated by ambulance thanks to close coordination between Civil Protection services and local volunteers, and transferred to hospital to receive the necessary medical care.
