Ksar El Kébir allows residents to return, but three districts remain closed
Local authorities in Ksar El Kébir, located in the Larache Province, have authorized residents to return to most neighborhoods of the city starting this Monday, following the recent floods that hit the region.
However, three districts remain temporarily excluded from this measure. These include Al Bassatine, the Cosumar residential area, and the district of the Regional Office for Agricultural Development, which falls under the second administrative annex. The Route de Larache neighborhood, linked to the sixth administrative annex, is also still closed to residents.
According to the local prefecture, the decision to gradually reopen the city is part of a coordinated and secure return plan for families who were evacuated as a precaution after severe weather conditions caused widespread damage.
Authorities explained that the expansion of authorized zones is due to improving climatic conditions and the positive results of field operations carried out by public services and technical teams. These interventions aim to restore infrastructure, clear debris, and ensure safe living conditions before residents fully resume normal life.
While welcoming the sense of responsibility shown by citizens during the first phase of the return process, local officials urged residents to strictly follow official instructions to guarantee the smooth and safe continuation of the operation.
