Morocco Joins U.S. Advanced Training Program

The U.S. Department of Defense has announced a contract with Cubic Defense Acquisition Inc. to provide logistical support for the P5 Combat Training System (P5CTS), which includes participation from Morocco.

Valued at approximately $400 million, the contract involves the U.S. Air Force and several partner nations: Australia, Egypt, Kuwait, Morocco, Oman, Poland, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore.

According to the Pentagon's official statement, the contract will be executed in San Diego, California, with a completion date set for June 9, 2032. This sole-source acquisition will see an initial allocation of $3 million starting in fiscal year 2025 under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program.

The P5CTS leverages ACMI (Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation) technology to provide advanced simulation of aerial combat maneuvers. It records mission data in real time, facilitating thorough evaluations after each training flight.

Used by the U.S. Air Force and over 20 countries worldwide, this system has been integrated into more than 2,000 aircraft platforms, including 600 modules in F-35 jets.

For Morocco, this technology will enable its F-16s to train in advanced scenarios alongside fifth-generation aircraft, enhancing interoperability and operational readiness in multinational contexts.
