EasyJet launches direct Strasbourg to Marrakech flights twice weekly

EasyJet has inaugurated a new direct air route connecting Strasbourg and Marrakech, expanding low-cost connectivity between France and Morocco. The service, which began operating on Sunday, runs twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays between Strasbourg-Entzheim Airport and Marrakech-Ménara Airport. The inaugural flights were fully booked in both directions, signaling strong demand from the outset.

Until now, travelers between the Alsace region of eastern France and Marrakech were forced to connect through other European cities or transit hubs, making the journey considerably longer and more cumbersome. The new direct route eliminates those intermediate stops, reducing travel time and simplifying logistics for tourists, business travelers, and families alike. The launch is particularly significant for the large Moroccan diaspora community settled in eastern France, who will benefit from faster and more affordable connections to their home country.

For Moroccan aviation authorities, the route carries strategic value beyond its commercial dimension. It is viewed as a tool for strengthening economic and human ties between the two countries, reinforcing a bilateral relationship that spans trade, culture, and migration. Strasbourg Airport's management expressed satisfaction at the launch, framing it within a broader strategy to diversify destinations and increase the appeal of the Alsatian hub to a wider range of passengers.

The route also reflects easyJet's continued push into the Moroccan market, which has seen sustained growth driven by rising tourist interest in Marrakech. The city's global profile, combined with Morocco's expanding aviation infrastructure and favorable bilateral air agreements, has made it an increasingly attractive destination for European low-cost carriers looking to capture both leisure and diaspora traffic.
