French national on INTERPOL red notice arrested at Marrakech Airport
Marrakech-Ménara Airport was the scene of a major arrest on Tuesday when a 32-year-old French national was stopped at the border by Moroccan authorities. The man, found carrying a falsified passport, was wanted by INTERPOL on charges of kidnapping and unlawful detention linked to drug trafficking disputes in France.
What initially appeared to be a routine check quickly escalated into an international case. A technical search of the suspect’s mobile phone revealed evidence suggesting involvement in transnational networks trafficking narcotics and psychotropic substances.
Authorities confirmed that the man was the subject of an INTERPOL Red Notice issued by the Paris Central Bureau. The alert identified him as dangerous and linked to violent methods commonly associated with territorial disputes between criminal organizations.
The suspect is currently in police custody under supervision of the competent prosecutor and awaits the outcome of extradition proceedings. INTERPOL’s Rabat National Central Bureau has already contacted French authorities to finalize the transfer.
