WIT Studio sparks fan speculation with new Attack on Titan visual
WIT Studio has reignited fan interest in the Attack on Titan franchise after posting a mysterious new visual depicting characters Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman, and Levi Ackerman dressed in formal attire rather than military uniforms. Shared on WIT’s official X account on February 27 with the caption “coming soon,” the image lacked any additional context, prompting widespread debate about a potential new project.
Gaming outlet Game Rant noted that a new production “does seem the likeliest outcome,” though it urged fans to remain cautious until official confirmation. The post follows renewed public activity around the franchise, including the theatrical re-release of Attack on Titan: The Final Chapter – The Last Attack in Dolby Cinema format across Japan earlier this year. Manga creator Hajime Isayama also marked the series’ 16th anniversary with an illustration of Eren and Levi, while an orchestral concert tour is launching in the United States, starting February 28 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
WIT Studio, which produced Attack on Titan’s first three seasons before MAPPA took over the final installment, has maintained a quiet but steady connection to the property through events and merchandise. The studio’s latest “Gekidou” pop-up exhibit ran at animate Kuala Lumpur earlier this year, featuring exclusive artwork and limited collaborations.
Unconfirmed reports suggest WIT’s teaser could tie into a commemorative project celebrating the anime’s legacy. In late 2025, anime outlet AniTV reported that Kodansha had registered new intellectual property related to Attack on Titan, and producer Tetsuya Kinoshita stated the franchise “will continue even though the TV anime has ended.” For now, WIT continues to develop its highly anticipated One Piece remake while fans wait for clarity on what this latest visual may signal.
