Morocco-India: Two Agreements to Strengthen Cultural and Health Cooperation
Morocco and India are giving new momentum to their partnership. Meeting on Monday in Rabat during the 7th session of the Joint Commission, the two countries concluded two agreements aimed at expanding their cooperation, particularly in the fields of culture and food safety.
The first agreement establishes a cultural exchange program for the period 2026-2030. It aims to promote joint initiatives and intensify exchanges around culture and heritage. Through this framework, Rabat and New Delhi intend to strengthen the ties between their institutions and cultural actors.
A Closer Relationship in Food Safety
The second agreement concerns a sector more directly related to consumer protection. It was signed between the National Office of Food Safety (ONSSA) and the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
The text notably provides for strengthening technical cooperation, information sharing, expertise exchange, and the dissemination of best practices in food safety.
This collaboration can help facilitate the alignment of practices between the two administrations and strengthen control mechanisms related to food products exchanged between the two countries.
A Cooperation Aiming to Diversify
The signing of these two agreements comes as part of the 7th session of the Morocco-India Joint Commission, a platform intended to examine the prospects for developing bilateral relations.
Beyond economic exchanges, the two new texts illustrate the desire to diversify the sectors of cooperation between Rabat and New Delhi. Culture and food safety thus complement the areas already invested in by the two partners.
The cultural program covers four years, while the agreement between ONSSA and FSSAI paves the way for closer institutional cooperation in a strategic area for both countries.
Rabat and New Delhi Strengthen Their Partnership
With these two agreements, Morocco and India demonstrate their willingness to transform their diplomatic rapprochement into concrete cooperation projects. Culture, heritage, and health safety now represent new axes in a bilateral relationship set to expand.
